Building Healthy Communities

AFRICAN CALABASH

The MCFS food pantry began in 2015 as a response to address the increased food insecurity among immigrant seniors in 2015. Due to increased community food-insecurity needs exacerbated by the COVID-19 Pandemic, MCFS began operating as an independent emergency food pantry in March 2020.

In September 2020, the Calabash Food Pantry was established when MCFS was approved as a Delaware County Interfaith Network Pantry (DIFAN) and currently serves a minimum of 600 families, adults, children and seniors monthly.

The Pantry is open on the First and Third Tuesdays of each month!

Seniors

In partnership with Philabundance, the Calabash Food Pantry primarily provides boxed food to seniors located in Delaware Counties. We also reach out to seniors in the Philadelphia area. We deliver these boxes to home bound seniors upon request.
