Our story
Building Healthy Communities

Multicultural Community Family Services, Inc. (MCFS) is an immigrant founded and minority led 501(c)3 not-for-profit community-based organization founded in 2003. MCFS founding was in response to bridging the cultural and linguistic service delivery gaps confronting traditional service providers serving African immigrants resettling within Philadelphia and Delaware Counties, after years of civil war conflicts in their home countries.
Although MCFS was originally founded to serve immigrants of African origins, MCFS recognized that human needs and conditions do not discriminate between nationalities and cultures; and that experiences of trauma, displacement, loss, and new beginnings are universal. This awareness has led to MCFS extending its service provisions to all in need and has become an essential service provider in the community. In addition to being deeply rooted in the community, MCFS is committed to improving the health and well-being of community residents.
MCFS works towards improving the social determinants of health for seniors, children, youth, and families through the delivery of culturally targeted community health, education, advocacy, immigration supports, and professional development.
Annually, MCFS programs and services are utilized by more than 1,000 individuals and families residing within the greater Philadelphia area and representing more than 45 countries. Since its founding, MCFS has served over 15,000 foreign born and United States Citizens residing in Bucks, Chester, Delaware, Montgomery, and Philadelphia Counties.
